1,000 questions are always buzzing around in your head before a photo shoot. That's completely normal!
To take away some of the anxiety, here's a little insight into how a shoot usually works for me in the TFP sector:
After you contact me (or I contact you), we first get to know each other digitally and talk a little to clarify initial areas. If everything is relaxed and in order, I will send you my questionnaire. This covers all the questions that have come up in my photo shoots so far. Be it the desired shooting areas, up to contact details, restrictions on a publication on my part, wishes, taboos, body data. This questionnaire helps me immensely with the preparation - and then also with the follow-up of the shoot.
We will then arrange an appointment. Where the shoot takes place will be clarified in advance. On the one hand, there is the option of shooting at your home with as much background as possible and a homely atmosphere. I will then bring my equipment to you. However, the shoot usually takes place in my studio. There are also options for an “ambient shoot” or classic studio photography as well as body paint and other projects. So we meet in a relaxed atmosphere and get to know each other. We have a leisurely coffee, get to know each other personally, chat a little to warm up. Then we can go through the questionnaire together, I'll be happy to answer any questions that come up and I'll show you the contract. Yes, I always work with a contract.
This is a classic TFP contract. It's there to ensure that no mischief is done with the pictures, so to speak. It states that the shoot with a TFP model is free of charge, that the pictures may not be altered, may not be sold and a bit more. This is for the safety of both the photographer and the model.
It's estimated that this will all take about an hour and we can then slowly move on to starting the shoot. Provided everything fits and the harmony is right. I have no problem with going home or aborting the shoot if it doesn't work out. It's better this way than investing several hours of time if you know from the outset that the results won't be satisfactory.
Once we've thought about what we want to do together, we start very casually with portraits and then slowly work our way forward bit by bit. Just as we feel like it. We listen to music and keep talking. I always show you the photos I take of you so that you can see for yourself what we create together.
And that's all the magic!
